Robert E. Thayer (15 de julio de 1868 – 19 de marzo de 1940) fue un autor e ilustrador estadounidense especializado en libros infantiles. Nació en Boston, Massachusetts, y estudió en la Massachusetts Normal Art School. Después de ejercer como profesor de arte, se dedicó a tiempo completo a escribir e ilustrar.
